you know what also happened on the Second of May besides Alec’s birthday? In ”1984”, Julia and Winston have sex in the woods, regardless of anti-sex leagues and the Mind police. /o\ It’s a free decision,not restricted by fear or repression anymore - they decide to do it, regardless of the consequences (or well, Julia persuades angsty Winston because she’s fucking awesome). I always thought it was one of the strongest events in 1984.
